Pumpkins are our jam here at Patch to Porch Colorado. And while we crave a hot cup of pumpkin spice latte from our favorite local café or a delicious slice of pumpkin pie just as much as the next autumn lover, there is nowhere we love seeing pumpkins more than on display at homes and businesses around Highlands Ranch! If you couldn't tell, pumpkins are most definitely at the top of our "fall favorites" list. To make things even better, there are so many different types of pumpkins in various shapes, sizes, and colors.
If you've visited a local patch or farm, you've probably already encountered a variety of pumpkins. More than 200 varieties of pumpkins grow in the United States, and farmers and seed companies regularly produce new colors and shapes. While most will spend a weekend or two roaming around pumpkin patches, seeking out the perfect shapes and sizes for our customers is our specialty!
Here at Patch to Porch Colorado in Highlands Ranch, we offer pumpkin delivery, design, and installation services to bring the magic of autumn right to your doorstep. Today, we want to help introduce you to some of the most popular pumpkin varieties.
The Warty Goblin

A crowd favorite for its spooky vibe and unique characteristics, this pumpkin has personality for days! Its dark orange skin with deep green "warts" is ideal for adding variety and interest to displays.
The Fairytale

These deeply lobed, flat pumpkins are straight out of a fairytale and perfect for stacking. Unfortunately, they won't turn into a carriage to whisk you away to a fancy ball.
The Jarrahdale

These beautiful slate-blue pumpkins can reach up to 18 pounds and feature distinct heavy ribs. They make a striking display and are often a favorite for adding subtle color to neutral or white displays.
The Marina di Chioggia

Originally of Italian descent, this heirloom variety features a delightfully warty skin.
Polar Bear

A strikingly white pumpkin that can reach up to 100 lbs! Best part for decorating: It won't yellow when left outdoors like some other white pumpkins.
Long Island Cheese

This heirloom variety has a nice, squat shape and warm brown hue that make it lovely for decorating.
Porcelain Doll

Similar in appearance to the Jarrahdale, this pinkish pumpkin adds a beautiful pastel hue to displays.
The Jack-O-Lantern

Last but certainly not least, the original. This heirloom variety is a round to oblong pumpkin, originally bred for making Jack O' Lanterns. Its flesh makes delicious pies, soups, and muffins, too. It weighs an average of about 7 to 10 pounds and has a deep orange color.
